2.一般用法（2）
翻译三步法之复合句的翻译：
Step1：拆句——个动词一句话，围绕动词造句子。
Step2：造句——找到各自对应的主语，再分别造句（简单句）。
Step3：连接——依照句法知识用连词将一个个小句连接起来，继而得到复合句。

【例1】当我们到达机场时，天正下着雪。
Step1：找动词： 到达、下雪
Step2：造句： we arrived at the airport；it was snowing

Step3：连接： It was snowing when we arrived at the airport.
【例2】这本书会告诉你最好的老板该掌握些什么。
Step1：找动词： 告诉、掌握
Step2：造句： this book will show you；the best boss should mater.
Step3：连接： This book will show you what the best bosses should master.

【例3】他向我解释了为什么之前他不喜欢我的原因。
Step1：找动词： 解释、不喜欢
Step2：造句： He explained the reason to us；they had disliked me before.

Step3：连接： He explained the reason to us why he had hated me before.

【模拟演练1】
我们并不总是能在冒险中成功，即使我们在冒险中投入了时间和金钱。
We are not always going to succeed in our ventures, even if (although/though) we invest time and money in them.

由于食物对健康至关重要，好厨师总是努力在谷物、肉类和蔬菜之间取得平衡。
As food is vital for one’s health, a good chef is always trying to strike a balance among grain, meat and

vegetables.

Some people mistakenly believed that our domestic products are always inferior to imported goods.
