（3）it引导的强调句型

要强调句子的某一成分，可用强调句型 “It is (was) + that (who) + 句子的其余部分”。it在句中无
意义，只起引出被强调部分的作用。强调句的翻译也分为三步：
Step1：拆句——一个动词一句话，围绕动词造句子。
Step2：造句——找到各自对应的主语，再分别造句（简单句）。

Step3：连接——依照强调句语法知识将小句子连接起来，继而得出复合句。
【例1】正是这场沙尘暴（dust storm）的后果才使人们认识到环境保护的重要性。
Step1：找动词：是，使…认识到
Step2：造句： It was the result of the dust storm；it made people realize the importance of
environment conservation.

Step3：连接： It was the result of the dust storm that made people realize the importance of
environment conservation.

正是那些冬奥会上的运动员为我们树立了学习的榜样。
It is the athletes at the Winter Olympics who(that) set an example for us.

直到20世纪后期，中国运动员才用他们在奥运会上杰出表现让世界对其刮目相看。
It was not until the late twentieth century that Chinese athletes began to surprise the world with their
excellent performances at the Olympics.

（二）中译英的语言特性
基于以上的翻译基础，我们应该如何做到准确翻译？如何做到表意生动？如何规避常见错误？

1.语言的准确性

这时候我们要注意英文本身的习惯和逻辑顺序，而不能生拼硬造的表达。
【例1】茶树在我老家长地很好。
“茶树”不能翻译成tea trees，“茶树”在翻译成英语时省略tree。
【例2】中国的人口非常多。

“人口多” 不用many、much，而用large、big。同样，“人口少”不用few、little，而用
small。因此正确表达为China has a very large population.
【例3】我想知道你是否愿意参加这个聚会。

“想知道”不能翻译成want to know，而应该选用符合英文本身习惯的表达wonder。
